I have been reading a lot about off camera flash and using speedlights on location. I have a Nikon SB-600 that I have been messing around with on my tri-pod and using the D90`s commander flash setting but the two times I went out I couldn`t nail the exposures..
I just learned yesterday about speedlights Guide Number and the mathematical equation behind it. Its simple but very essential, all I need is a measuring tape and a chart with all the different Guide Numbers depending on ISO levels. Maybe later I`ll explain how it works.
Now that I know more about the flash and how to properly place the light as well as get the right settings I should be able to shoot some decent on location shots with flash. Hopefully I will be getting a cheap light stand with a cheap white umbrella so i can have some nice defused light over the harsh direct flash.
HI Joe... great photogs!! very impressive! Keep on snapping that camera!
